Protecting the environment by setting a good example

What do you think that schools should teach students about the importance of protecting the environment? Nowadays, most schools consider that it is very important to teach students different methods for taking care of the environment because pollution has increased remarkably over the years.

One of the most common methods taught in schools is the recycling method. It is very important to teach the use and function of recycling since you can make a new product by recycling another one and this process does not have the purpose of contaminating. In many schools you can see trash cans of different colours so that students recycle and do not pollute. This is a very good way to raise awareness among students to take care of the environment.

Another method to avoid contamination of the environment is by saving energy. At schools students are taught different methods to take care the environment such as not wasting water when we bathe and brush our teeth or If you feel compelled to wash your car, take it to a car wash that recycles the water, rather than washing at home with the hose.

Schools apart from teaching students different methods to care for the environment should raise awareness of what happens on the planet as a result of pollution. In my opinion it is necessary for students to know this since they are going to be the future generation of this planet and they have to finish school knowing that we have to take care of the environment.
